This procedure involves transplanting ear cartilage to the nasal tip, allowing for refinement and elevation of its contour. This option is ideal for individuals who prefer a less extensive procedure compared to septal extension.

Procedure Details

The incision is strategically placed behind the ear, ensuring that any scarring is discreet and virtually imperceptible. This approach preserves the natural shape and function of the ear. We offer both the CLOSED method, which ensures no visible external scarring, and the OPEN method, which allows for more comprehensive and precise reshaping. Post-procedure, a protective splint will be applied for approximately 3 to 7 days to ensure optimal healing and support.

Procedure Duration

Follow-up Visits / Suture Removal

For the OPEN method, sutures will be removed 7 days post-procedure. In some cases, a clinic visit may be required 3 days post-procedure to remove the dressing.

Makeup

Makeup application is permissible from the day after suture removal, excluding the incision site.

Bathing / Facial Cleansing

Showering and facial cleansing are permitted from the day of the procedure, provided care is taken to avoid wetting the incision site and dressing. (From the following day, the incision site may also be cleansed; the dressing should not be wet until instructed.) Full bathing is permissible from the day after suture removal.

Risks / Side Effects

Post-operative swelling, pain, bruising, infection, discomfort, upward or downward nasal tip rotation, nasal congestion, pollybeak deformity, pinch nose deformity, perceived widening of the nasal ala, necrosis or absorption of grafted cartilage, visible cartilage prominence, nasal deviation, ear deformity, scarring.

Downtime

Significant swelling, edema, and discomfort are highly probable during the first 2-3 days post-procedure. Major swelling typically subsides within approximately 1-2 weeks.

Aftercare

The morning after the procedure, you may experience some nasal bleeding. Please gently wipe it with a clean gauze. Ensure not to remove the dressing/splint.

Ineligible Candidates

Individuals currently taking anticoagulant medications (blood thinners, depending on the type), those with severe diabetes, or individuals with a keloid predisposition.
